ERGONOMICS ASSESSMENTS.

Ergonow‘s Ergonomists will perform an Assessment of any work environment. The Assessment will consist of a thorough review of workstations, job tasks and processes, and the work environment. First, a Hazard Analysis will be performed to identify high-risk elements in the workplace. Next, objective metrics related to injury-risk for all indentified hazards will be measured and compared to ergonomic guidelines and standards as recognized by the Ministry of Labour and the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board. A detailed report will follow which will contain specific recommendations for improving the workplace environment. These will include controls for reducing the risks for injury, and improving productivity.

Assessments can be customized and centered around your our your worker’s specific needs.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS ANALYSES.

The purpose of a Physical Demands Analysis/Description (PDA/PDD) or Job Demands Assessment (JDA) is to document the essential duties of a task, with the physical elements of that task broken down and described in detail. Furthermore, objective measurements are reported for all physical elements of the task.

PDA’s/JDA’s can be used for:

Ergonomic hazard identification

Determining job and task suitability

Return-to-work planning

Assisting medical professionals in evaluating an employee’s current suitability and return-to-work options

Hiring practices for pre-employment, to train new workers, etc.

Suitability and Accommodation Review

A Suitability and Accommodation Review is an evaluation of the match between a specific worker’s capabilities and their job. We use a worker’s documented work restrictions/capabilities and a recent Physical Demands Analysis/Description for their job and evaluate the match. When work accommodations are required, our Ergonomist will make the necessary recommendations to get the injured worker back to work.

In many cases, the recommended changes are applicable to other individuals tasked with performing the affected job. Thus, they will also receive the benefits of a more ergonomically sound work environment.

TRAINING.

Education and awareness is an integral part of any successful ergonomics program. Employees who understand the benefits of ergonomics and how it plays a role in their work are less likely to succumb to work-related injuries. With this in mind, Ergonow offers educational services on various topics to heighten employee interest in ergonomics, and instill an understanding of how workers can better control their own health and safety.

Our approach is to provide hands-on, practical sessions which engages workers and encourages them to take what they learn and apply it to their own working habits. We offer full day, half day, lunch-n-learns and breakfast sessions to accommodate your needs, and can also provide extended, multi-day clinics and workshops.

Ergonow will cater to your company’s needs and help determine an appropriate length of session (1 hour to multi-day) to customize content as needed.
